SMASH! THE NEW GLEE???

Gleeks! Prepare yourself because there's a new show in town! SMASH is a new musical series on NBC television that will be airing on Monday, February 6 2012. The series is co-created and produced by Steven Spielberg, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. Wait???! Steven Spielberg?? How cool is that!!!

The star of the series are Katherine McPhee, a former American Idol contestant with Megan Hilty, Brian d'Arcy James, Debra Meesing, Christian Tassel, Jack Davenport, Angelica Huston, Raza Jaffrey and appearances by Uma Thurman. SMASH is about how some producers and writers who have left their work for some time decide to return to the stage with a musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe. The series will have their own songs to be written by Marc Shaiman and Scott Whitman. They also will cover some songs like GLEE did in their episodes. In SMASH first episode, they will cover songs like 'Beautiful' by Christina Aguilera, 'Somewhere Over The Rainbow' by Judy Garland and 'Cheers!' by Rihanna.
