Damian will return for season 2 as a judge for the NYC auditions. "Honesty is number one for me. If you're not honest, I don't like you," he told the Entertainment Weekly. Robert Ulrich added, "We’re asking people to be themselves so that Ryan Murphy can see them and say, 'Okay, I can write for you.' That’s hard for anybody, but it's particularly hard for 18 and 19 year olds who don’t know who they are. They have to be so defined as themselves, and it’s kind of an interesting concept. It’s what makes this show so unique."
“It isn’t just about the voice by any means," Damian added. "It’s about being accessible, having that certain 'it' factor, and being able to fit into that Glee world."
THE NEW THINGS IN THE GLEE PROJECT SEASON 2 ARE :
New Audition Destinations!
Auditions extended to Nashville this time around, which Ulrich says gave the process “a whole flavor ― that Southern thing ― that we haven’t seen in the audition process before.”
International Contestants!
“We had somebody fly in from Singapore, somebody from France, from London, and South America,” Ulrich shared. What, no one else from Ireland this year?
14 Finalists!
The competition becomes bigger and better with the inclusion of an additional two finalists ― up from 12 ― that will make their way from the initial pack of 80.
